Bicycle Riding for First Time Riders
2 hour session
GROUP LESSONS: INSTRUCTORS PROVIDE GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION; a parent/partner is expected to support the rider throughout the session.
Child classes (ages 5-12)
- Class length: 2 hours (including breaks)
- Cost: $59 (classes must be a minimum of 5 riders; classes will be postponed to the next month until 5 or more riders are enrolled)
- Bicycle rental: $10 (based on availability of equipment)
Teen and adult Classes (ages 13 and up)
- Class length: 2 hours (including breaks)
- Cost: $59 (classes must be a minimum of 5 riders; classes will be postponed to the next month until 5 or more riders are enrolled)
- Bicycle rental: $10 (based on the availability of equipment)

The lesson covers:
- Fitting for the best bicycle and seating position
- Starting and stopping (crash avoidance)
- Turning
- Overcoming fear
EQUIPMENT:
You must supply safety gear and a working bicycle (we’re happy to make minor adjustments or tuning of your bicycle if you request it at least a day in advance prior to the lesson). We recommend bikes that DO NOT peddle backward but instead have hand breaks. Equipment may be provided upon request. The rider’s feet must be flat on the ground when they are sitting on the bicycle. We recommend bikes that DO NOT peddle backward but instead have hand breaks.
WEATHER:
If rain persists for more than 15 minutes, classes are paused until the weather improves. If the weather doesn’t improve after 15 minutes riders are offered to return to another lesson free of charge.
